Centro de Desarrollo Urbano Sustentable CEDEUS

El Centro de Desarrollo Urbano Sustentable (CEDEUS) es un Centro de Investigación que promueve la discusión sobre las ciudades de nuestro país y sus procesos de desarrollo sustentable. Su objetivo principal es entender las dinámicas urbanas, los instrumentos y los procesos de toma de decisiones que permiten desarrollar mejoras equitativas y sostenidas en la calidad de vida de las personas, a través del reconocimiento de los límites biofísicos y de las demandas sociales de las ciudades chilenas.

CEDEUS is an initiative that brings together leading researchers in their field who seek to contribute, in an interdisciplinary manner, to the challenges of research, human capital training, and engagement with society in the area of Sustainable Urban Development.

The center is made up of three institutions: the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC) as the Sponsoring institution; the University of Concepción (UdeC) as the Associated institution; and, as an international collaborator, the Center for Sustainable Urban Development (CSUD) at Columbia University in the United States.

CEDEUS is a Center of Excellence in Research, funded by CONICYT through its FONDAP Program (CONICYT/FONDAP 15110020).
