The mission of the Center for Public Policy (CPP) is to contribute to the country’s development by linking UC’s academic work with the main challenges of society. The center seeks to contribute through proposals and solutions that are politically, socially, and economically sustainable, aiming to influence the public policy formulation process by generating opinion, evidence, and studies on matters of public interest, and working collaboratively to bring different actors in society together.
Our work aligns with the University and the values it promotes to society. We are committed to rigorous, high-quality, and high-standard work, and we focus on formulating solutions rather than merely identifying problems. Another characteristic of ours is identifying, understanding, and engaging the most relevant stakeholders associated with public issues. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals also collaborates with researchers and faculty members from various units on the products we develop.
The center reports to the Vice-Rector’s Office and has an Academic Council composed of representatives from the nine faculties that help define its general strategic guidelines. The affiliated faculties are: Agronomy and Natural Systems; Architecture, Design and Urban Studies; Economics and Business; Social Sciences; Law; Education; History, Geography and Political Science; Engineering; and Medicine.
