Cities Observatory (OCUC)
The UC Cities Observatory (OCUC) aims to consolidate its position as an Applied Research Center for urban and territorial studies. Within the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urban Studies, it establishes an institutional collaboration platform for the development of projects and research that enable the generation and implementation of urban public policies in the country. As a platform for integrating various academic units, one of OCUC’s objectives is to focus and capitalize on the academic output of both faculty and students, thereby integrating the different activities and proposals of each unit.
Furthermore, OCUC positions itself as a center for urban and territorial studies that provides concrete diagnoses and innovation proposals in public policy, in accordance with the institutional and political reality of the country, capitalizing as much as possible on the role of various public sector figures. In this way, the objective is to address in depth some themes of the National Urban Development Policy, and to develop specific proposals that engage with its implementation in the territory.
