The mission of the UC Public Policy Center is to contribute to the country’s development by linking the academic work of Universidad Católica with society’s main challenges. In our work, we seek to contribute with proposals and solutions that are politically, socially, and economically sustainable; we work to influence the public policy formulation process through the generation of opinion, evidence, and studies on matters of public interest, and we work collaboratively by bringing together different actors in society.
Our work aligns with the University and the values it promotes to society. We are committed to rigorous, high-quality, and high-standard work, and we focus on formulating solutions rather than merely identifying problems. Another characteristic of ours is to identify, understand, and engage the most relevant stakeholders associated with public issues.
We have a multidisciplinary team of professionals and also collaborate with researchers and academics from various faculties on the products we develop. The Public Policy Center reports to the Vice-Rector’s Office and has an Academic Council composed of representatives from nine Faculties who contribute to defining its general strategic guidelines.
The faculties affiliated with the Center are: Agronomy and Forestry Engineering; Architecture, Design and Urban Studies; Economics and Business; Social Sciences; Law; Education; History, Geography and Political Science; Engineering; and Medicine.
